One day I heard someone say that alot of moms just go too far in protecting their children. That this was a trend. He mentioned homeschooling when talking about this and ofcourse that got this mommys attention. I can not speak for every mommy out there but I want to raise my voice on this one. Our choice of homeschooling is part of teaching our children about life. I want my kids to feel safe and protected and STILL learn. To protect what we have been given, our children, comes as natural to us as brushing out teeth in the morning. Not only us human beings do this, you see it often in nature as well. Natural, since we are all of Gods creation. This "trend" however, that this man was talking about in such a negative manner, caught my attention because I have noticed it too. I have seen, heard and read so much these last years about mothers all around the globe realizing that there are things out there we need to guard our kids from. I am thrilled! When something fits in with the word of my Creator, I know it is the right way to go about things. This so called trend is really mommys all around the world coming back to their calling and loving it! Overprotection is a relatively word, different people put different meanings into it. Some children might needs more or a different kind of protectiong than others, it is not up to me to judge. I have two children and these two are my gifts to protect from the things in this world that will harm them. I try  making sure I dont protect them from things they will learn and benefit from, even if it might hurt a bit right there and then. Valuable lessons are learn by life itself. Jesus was not spared, but in the midst of his suffereing, his Heavenly Father, was there. The same way we have to be there for our daughters and sons, they need us to be their loving guide.

My children just got a baby-bunny .Adorable little guy. Lets say they forgot to lock him up one night. He breaks loose from his cage and a fox gets him. What do I tell my kids? Thats right! The truth. Something else would not be "protecting" but lying. the knowledge of the rabbit being eaten by a fox would hurt for a while, but they would learn lessons as well. This is just one little example of life. I dont want to protect my children from life. Things I do want to protect my children from are things of this world. I do not always believe in the phrase; "Let them just go about, they will learn from their mistakes". As a child grows into an adult, there are some things they are to learn, by trying and failing. Drugs are not one of them. Drinking or smoking is not one of them. Hanging out with people that want them no good, is not one of them. Bulimia due to being exposed to todays unattainable ideal body trough commercials and magazines, is not one of them. Cancer and heart-disease due to poor nutricial habits, is not one of them. Poor health due to sitting still playing video-games ,is not one of them. A dishonest peronality due to being lied to, is not one of them.

So, I am a mommy, I have a great responsibility. Who am I too answer to; a man who tells me to let my children experience the evil of this would because in the end, love will come out of it? Dont think I will go with that one. I know someone great, in fact He is the Greatest. His word speaks for itself.

Matthew 18:10 - Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Mark 9:42 - And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Psalms 127:3 - Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.

Luke 17:2 - It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Matthew 25:40 - And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

Matthew 18:6 - But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
